These terms apply to the Holy Bible app (called Bíblia Sagrada in Portuguese and Sagrada Biblia in Spanish) for Android, iPhone and iPad, and to the website holybible.day. By installing or using the app or the website, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled.
In short

Who we are
Link to section: Who we areThe app and the website are developed by the developer of Holy Bible (Bíblia Sagrada), an independent developer in Brazil who publishes on Google Play as UpMobilab (“we”). Contact: support@holybible.day.
Using the app

Link to section: Free, without an accountYou can download and use the app for free. There is no sign-up, and nothing in the app is sold.
Your license
Link to section: Your licenseWe give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes. The terms of the store you downloaded it from also apply: Google Play Terms of Service or Apple Media Services Terms.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the app with the permission of a parent or guardian.
What you agree not to do

- Copy, sell or redistribute the app or the Bible texts it contains, or extract its Bible databases for use in other products.
- Tamper with ads, for example by tapping them on purpose to generate revenue or by using tools that fake views or clicks.
- Interfere with the app, the website or the services they rely on.
- Reverse engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob, which keep it free. Ads are chosen by Google and the advertisers, not by us, and showing an ad doesn’t mean we endorse the product, service or message. If you tap an ad, the advertiser’s website or app and its terms apply. To report an inappropriate ad, write to us. How ads use data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Bible texts and other content

Link to section: Bible translationsThe Bible translations in the app belong to their copyright holders (Bible societies and publishers, credited in the app) or are in the public domain. We claim no ownership of them. They are provided for personal reading and study. Don’t copy them in bulk or use them commercially without permission from the rights holder.
Sharing verses
Link to section: Sharing versesYou can share verses as text or images for personal, non-commercial purposes. Whenever possible, keep the reference and the translation name, and respect the quotation limits set by each publisher.
Photos
Link to section: PhotosBackground photos come from Pexels, are used under the Pexels License and belong to their photographers. Photos you choose from your own gallery remain yours. You are responsible for the images you create and share, and for having the right to use your own photos.
Our materials
Link to section: Our materialsThe app’s code, design, logo and the texts we wrote (everything except the Bible translations and third-party content) belong to us. The app also includes open-source software and fonts, used under their own licenses.
Rights holders
Link to section: Rights holdersIf you hold rights to content in the app or on the website and believe it is being used improperly, write to support@holybible.day. We’ll review the request promptly and, if appropriate, remove or adjust the content.
Your notes and your data
Link to section: Your notes and your dataHighlights, bookmarks, notes and history are stored only on your device. We can’t access or restore them: if you uninstall the app, clear its storage or lose your device, they may be lost. Use your device’s backup if you want to keep a copy.
Third-party services and links
Link to section: Third-party services and linksThe app and the website rely on, and link to, third-party services (such as Google, Pexels, Cloudflare, WhatsApp and Instagram), which have their own terms. We aren’t responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Changes and availability
Link to section: Changes and availabilityWe may update the app, add or remove features, and add or remove Bible translations, for example if a license changes. We try to keep the app and the website available, but we can’t guarantee they’ll be free of interruptions or errors, and we may stop offering them at any time.
No warranty
Link to section: No warrantyThe app and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that they will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose. We take care with the texts, but typing or formatting errors may exist; for in-depth study, compare with a printed edition.
This doesn’t affect rights that the law doesn’t allow to be excluded, such as those under Brazil’s Consumer Defense Code or the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
Limitation of liability
Link to section: Limitation of liabilityTo the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages, for the loss of data stored on your device, or for damages caused by third-party services, ads or content. Nothing in these terms limits liability for willful misconduct, gross negligence or any other liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
App Store (iPhone and iPad)

- these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we (not Apple) are responsible for the app and its content;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
- to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation regarding the app;
- Apple isn’t responsible for claims relating to the app, such as product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims;
- you confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Ending use
Link to section: Ending useYou can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. The sections about content rights, warranties, liability and governing law continue to apply after that.
Governing law and disputes
Link to section: Governing law and disputesThese terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. If you are a consumer, you can bring any dispute before the courts of your own domicile, as guaranteed by Brazil’s Consumer Defense Code (Law No. 8,078/1990), and you keep the protections of the mandatory laws of your country of residence. Before going to court, please write to us: most problems can be solved by email.
Changes to these terms
Link to section: Changes to these termsWe may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the current version. If a change is significant, we’ll highlight it on this site and, where appropriate, in the app. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
